2 try my very first tank.....

Here is a picture of my 55 gallon I am currently cycling. It has 50 lbs of Fiji live rock. I didn't use anything but the rock in the set up and it is pretty sturdy to the touch and doesn't move during cleaning.

Definitely have given me some ideas. Thanks guys! I just ordered 50 lbs of dry rock today and as soon as I get it in my 58 Gallon I'll post some pics. I'd be interested to know how many pounds each of you put in your tanks, as I have no idea what 50 lbs of rock looks like, lol

My newly set up and still cycling 55. 52 lbs of Haitian live rock, ~50 lbs of previously live sand. Going to be an eel tank so I have PVC running the length of the tank and lots of caves and hiding places. Except for a couple inches in the back and on the left side none of the aquascaping touches the sides. I also have a cichlid cave and a barnacle cluster in there

1st Reef Tank

1st Reef Tank

About 75 pounds of reef saver rock and 45 pounds of crushed coral. For my first try, I think it turned out pretty good.

This looks nice, but you'll have trouble cleaning the side glasses later on. Trust me, it's not worth it. your side glass will be very very dirty and it's impossible to clean. Give yourself at lease 5" to clean the glass all around. have you seen tanks that aren't accessible via magnets? the coralline build up is nasty.[/QUOTE]

I know this is an old thread but you do realize 5" all around would mean you would have 2" of space in the middle to aquascape right? :lolspin:
