55 gallon tanks...pics maybe?

I'd like to try out a fish only setup again, but for space issues in an apartment want to stick to a tank that can be longer but not wide. So, a 55 seems to be a decent size to give some extra length. That, and there's always a ton of them for sale used. I know 55s aren't typically thought of as an ideal size tank because they are only 12" or so wide, but I'm curious to see what's out there.

So, would anyone having a 55 gallon fish only tank like to share their setups, what works for them and maybe some pics?

We keep (2) dwarf lion species, (2) waspfish species, (2) small scorpionfish species, and a trio of H. borbonius anthias in a std. 60 gal which is very close to a 55 gal in size.

We use a 20 gal sump and a large skimmer on the setup:

Looks nice! I was thinking of taking a pretty simple approach and while using RODI water, foregoing the sump and just using a hang on skimmer and Fosters and Smith have a hang-on filter that skims the water surface.

get a HOB from bulkreefsupply. you can get a really nice one, an octopus 1000 that's rated for a 75g (i believe, may be a 125, can't remember). but anyway, I have one and it's the bomb! it comes highly recommended. i want to say i paid around $130 for it.
