my tanks footprint is 36"x120" and where it sits i had to shim one end one inch and half inch on other end. it sits on flloor in center.
i shimmed it every foot with the polycarbonate plastic shimmed rated for 14k lbs of wait so what do u think.
anybody got any suggestions?

Is the floor that far out?

Is there a basement?

I'm not sure I would trust the shims....probably will work but 2 yrs down the road you could end up with a stress related crack and then you got problems!! That tank is huge!!! :)

Did you build the stand? I'm just thinking maybe the end legs are cut a little shorter than the middle?
If the floor is just not level, then all you can do is shim it or build a custom stand that is taller on each end.

Do you have any pics of the full stand and maybe some close-ups of the shims?

stand was profecianlly built and is perfect , i even checked it all just now bc what u said.
it was set up before no problem but the new house has a crazy slab.im scared of shims (that many anyways)
how do u post pics i forgot? been while

Take your time and shim it correctly, IMO. Use a material that you know won't deform/decay/corrode. You definitely don't want to have to do it after it's full.

You can either shim it under the bottom or shim the top and add a layer of plywood ontop of it!?!
To post pics you need to host them somewhere like photobucket and then just copy/paste the [IMG/] url...

An inch of shims is Way too much for me....:eek1: Not like its a 40 gallon tank, that thing is a heavy Monster!!!:p

screenguy glad to see you setting the tank up. I used the plastic ones with no problem. I used 2 automotive car jacks with 4x4 wood to the stand and then added the shims. Then I filled checked it again reajusted and then did it again. took me 3 times to get it perfect. If you need help give me a call.

im setting it up for the second time. i moved to davie right after i got it finished at the pines house. it is now in a wall one sided with fish room in back.
i have it level now and it is good but i have 1" of shims on one side litarly. (scary)i was thinking maybe using some type of product that hardens like rock and is weight baring and comes in like caulking tube and just fill in the gaps inbetween every shim that is every foot allready around perimeter and also bottom cross members.

They sell epoxy that can be poured into a form. The epoxy is completely self leveling. We use it when installing equipment at work when being level is critical. The brand we use is called Sika, and I can find it locally at a concrete supply company.

you can also just make a steel wedges thats fills in the gap. basiclly a few steel pcs slowly building up to the inch level.
