Got this guy this week. The LFS owner got him for free from the wholesaler because he was so beat up and on the brink of death. But he bounced back in the store and was eating and recovering well. I think normally something of his size would go anywhere from $150-$300, I got a nice deal for $99! First day he was fighting a lot with my female Watanabe Angel, But they both settled down on the third day and now eating like a pig and is very friendly!

Genicanthus Semifasciatus has the ability to change from female to male, and also vise versa. So their colors can be constantly evolving depends on which way of the journey they are on. A full blown male will eventually have gold running down and tiger stripes. This one is changing so I am crossing my fingers that in time it will display full male characters.

Is this dependent on if you have a female with him?

Make coloration may not stay without females percent. My fully make watenabei has reverted to female color.
