6 ft SPS tanks, what are your bulbs?

I'm particularly curious about the 125's but a little deeper is ok too. I am thinking of either 3- 250 watt XM 10k's with 280 watts VHO uri's or 3-250 watt 14k hamitons with or without actinic, not sure. I'm looking for both growth and nice intense coral color. What are your experiences with these, or even other bulbs run on a 6' tank. I only use SE bulbs and M58 ballast, so never mind Ushio.

I have a 150g that is 20" high. I run two 400W with a 175W between them. I have 370W VHO. I run 20K. When I tried 10K I did not like the color. Growth is just fine.

Tim,

Do you know anyone here on RC that is running 2 Luminarcs on their 6' 180? I know the Luminarcs are supposed to cover 3', but I wanted to see what the coverage was really like. On my 180 the Luminarcs would be centered right over the 2 braces. So I was concerned about the shadowing they would produce.

kevinsquint,

I've heard some good things about the Reeflux bulbs. Might be worth checking out.

I have a six foot 225 - I run four 400w bulbs - I have a mixture as I am playing with what bulb types I like the best - I have two 14 k hamiltons, one aquaconnect 14 k and one reeflux 10 k - I think that I like the reeflux the best but it has this pink hue that I don't care for - the aquaconnect is second - it is similar in blueness to the hammys but a little more crisp/white - also used to run hamilton 10k but way too yellow for my taste now - tank is sps heavy with a few clams

I currently run 4X250watt XM 10k and 2X 140watt VHO actinics. Been running that config. for a few years now great growth and color. LIke the color but going to try out 14k Hamiltons. PS. bulbs in picture are over year old getting ready to change out.

Ran 3x400w XM20K (PFO M59 Ballasts) with Spider-style reflectors on a 6x2x2 (and a number of different types of actinic supplementation, pc/vho/etc).

I ran a reduced photoperiod of 5-6 hours, there was simply too much light. Plenty of photoinhibition and bleaching when I ran a 10h photoperiod.
