If you were in the USA I was going to look up Frag Swaps Near You but I have No Clue about any Frag Swaps Outside of the U.S.

Hello,
2 weeks ago i bought 2 colonies of zoas. 1 with 6 heads and the ither with 13 or so. I noticed yesterday that they are bleaching. White spots scattered around the middle of the polyp, i really dont want my first coral to die... Can you please help me?

And do you recommend that I feed them frozen cubes of shrimp?

My tank is about 9 gal, 2.5k of live rock, 1 true sebae clown and a 2cm slug. I also currently have a green (not hair) algae out break. Could that be a reason for their bleaching?

If they are Bleaching then They are Probably Getting Too Much Light. What Lights are You Using?

Zoanthids are Not Going to Eat Shrimp as It is Too Big. I Would Feed Them Reef Roids.

I Would Get More Live Rock as 2.5 Pounds is Not Much.

Do You Have a Picture?

Any Spots on the Stalk or Just on the Polyps?

2.5 kgs of live rock or about 5 pounds.

I have a 20w led panel. 3 blue lights bulbs and 3 white bulbs. Its one of those that can be fixed onto the tank and they hang over the water with like 5 inches. Its originaly 27w with 9 bulbs, 6 white and 3 blue. But i turned off 3 whites because it was just too strong.

And yeah ill post a pic of the bleaching. The bleaching is not on the talks, onlt the heads. As you will see in the pics some have turned brown, some got white spots. They are originally green.

I have read that zoas do eat the frozen small cubes of brine shrimp, after i melt it in tank water of course.. Are you sure they dont eat that kinda thing?

Those Might eat it.

Traditional Zoa's Won't Eat Stuff Like that but Proto-Paly's Will.

That Looks like it Could Be a Proto-Paly so Give it a Try.

Bayer Dip is a Dip in Bayer Insecticide (Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart. etc).

There are a few Types (Get Soil and Turf).

I posted a Picture Below of the Bayer you want to use.

It is the Least Stressful Dip for Coral as well as the Most Effective Dip against Coral Pests (Nudibranches, Red Bugs, AEFW, etc.)

There are Different Recipes.

I Do

1 Gallon Saltwater
4 Ounces Bayer

15 Minutes

I have a Powerhead in there (Koralia 240) for Movement
I also use a Turkey Baster

Then Rinse in Saltwater.

Then I inspect for Eggs with a High Powered LED Magnifying Glass that is Used by Coin Collectors.

Remember NO Dip Kills Eggs even though some Advertise that they do.

Question please.. Is there any corals that you DO NOT want to dip in this? Also do you do regular dips, or just once before entry in the aquarium?
