600 Display (1100+ total system) Mixed Reef

I know how much everyone loves following these set-up threads so I have started documenting my new set-up. Main display tank is 96x48x30 with external overflow. Sump 300+ gallons, 100 gallon refugium, 100 gallon sponge tank, 80 gallon 2nd fuge/mangrove tank.

The display tank is being set-up as a penninsula.

A few photos for now and I will try and fill in the details on the system later today.

I have over 300 lbs live rock already.

I planned to only have access panels in the wall on that side of the tank.

Chevron unfortunately was lost when my 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank busted about this time last year (lost my Clown Tang, Showsize Powder Blue Tang, Flagfin Angel, Clown Trigger, Unicorn Tang, etc. )

Can you tell us more about this sump ?? What are the dimensions ?? I take it this is the 300gal tank ??

It's 144"x24"x24" but won't be filled completely to the top, so estimating only about 300 gallons total volume in it.

I was thinking it looked rather long, was thinking 10'... Looks like a used RR tank ?? Pick it up used I take it ??

Perfect sized tank IMO. i love the that you are setting up the sponge tank for added filtration. i'll also keep my eye on this build.

sixxer, could you tell me more about your plans on the sponge tank... I have been thinking about adding one to my setup...

Sponge tank will be fead directly from a valve off of one of the display tank drains, it's going to be located above the sump next to the refugium, low lighting. Still have not decided 100% on the flow as I am getting confilicting opinions (high flow vs. low flow). The tank will be plumbed to gravity-flow into the sump near the return pumps.

Going to get ahold of some nice sponge infested live-rock once it's set-up and ready to go. Hoping to use it as added filtration as well as a source of natural sponge to feed some of the main display residents.

yea.....hopefully pick the tank up tonight however I just can't get excited to drive to columbus to pick it up. Then I have to go up there again to throw the tank together...

Where in Columbus are you picking your tank up at ?? Who is building it ??
