Great update. Looks like you have lots of room for accessing the top of the tank from the living area. That should come in handy working on such a monster tank. Awesome woodwork.

your tank, your basement is like my dream. i cant even imagine how great that tank will look once its complete. it already looks amazing.

I don't think i could have dreamed it any better. Can i live in your kids toy room? As payment i'll clean the aquarium glass for you and conduct daily inspection and maintenance on the beer tap. Deal?

Okay couple of things.
  1. That light bulb hanging off a piece of wire in the shower will be a problem (and it doesn't meet code).
  2. That recessed can light over the tank will not be enough to grow corals.

Read the whole thread and you should be very proud of your planning and execution. I am a woodworker and those cherry panels look absolutely gorgeous
I can't wait to see the next phase -- equipment

that was an amazing read. It's almost enough to make me want to move up north so i can have a basement. Congrats on a fantastic accomplishment.

Typical engineer...

Nah a typical engineer will think it, design it, have it installed and then realize it doesn't work until they reach for the shampoo and instead grab a handfull of wet toilet paper

Indeed!! Sweet setup. Almost as nice as my 40 gal.....
Just kidding, honnestly though I always look forward to seeing updates on this thread.
Inspiring stuff... keep em comin :)

Wmas, I like how you've set up your RO and Salt stations. Some questions:
Height of your fish room:
Height of your RO container (on top):
Height of your salt container:

Thanks,

There was a broken link in the above fishroom pictures. If you reload you will now see a shot of the sump and of the rack that holds the tanks under the picture of the ro mixing towers.
