600 Gallon Upgrade Build

Wayne sorry to hear about your set back. I'm sure it's a lessone well learned and you'll bounce back stronger!
Did you find out if the test kit was faulty and get a new one if so?

Corey

Thanks Corey. As for the test kit, I went back to Salifert. Red Sea wasn't really professional so I won't use them.

OK.. Head up... eyes forward and open.

Lets keep moving forward and upward.

Give me a call. I am off the rest of the week from work.

I would strongly consider qt. if you had ich and didn't treat for it....it's not gone. So sorry you're having all of these problems Wayne.

I know it's not gone. It will always be in the tank regardless. But building up their immune system I think is the key. As for my problems, I know it's part of the hobby.

Wayne, Just read what i have been missing with all the holidays. Sorry to hear about your fish losses. Were you ever able to determine if the new bottle of LaCl was a stronger dose?

Yes it was. The gentleman at the pool store told me it was the same bottle but later confirmed it was more concentrated than I need.

depending on how much you diluted it, I dont think the lacl is the source of your problem. I know that people have said tangs can have respiratory issues because of lacl but most of those cases were where it dosed directly into the dt and not diluted enough. Just a shot in the dark....have you tested your ammonia levels?

Sorry to hear about your mishap!!!
Unfortunately setbacks are part of this hobby. Hope the remaining fish will pull through.

Man been a while since I caught up. Sorry to hear about the losses hopefully things will be on the up and up soon.

I'm sure I overdosed on accident. Until then the tank was on cruise control.

Levels tested

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5-10ppm
pH - 8.1
