600 Gallon Upgrade Build

I added a thin layer (1/4 inch or less) of crushed corals over small areas at a time with no negative effect. I did it to cover the finer sand that the MP60s were moving around... Wayne hope that everything is OK in your tank... and we would appreciate knowing what motivated you to do it now... Thanks
I got tired of seeing the tank bottom and that I took a shortcut setting the tank up. I felt guilty and wanted to do it right.

I sort of did the same thing early on as I started with a bare bottom but did not like the looks of it and did not want to wait till it was covered with purple coraline.. Now I am considering taking the sand out of my frag tank (MAYBE !!).. Lots of people prefer a bare bottom as it is easier to keep it free of detritus.. Was not for me and I see nor for you....

Bare bottom is not for everybody.

No matter where you say it, you will get lots of comments at all of the forums. ;) (including this one)

I was thinking of going BB on the 265. But alias I am going with oolite and special grade again. It will be about 50/50 mixed to about 2 inches total.

You're on the same level with Dave. I thought oolite was not a good combo with vortecs?

I added some new additions Monday night. Dipped everything in Bayer for the first time.:dance::dance: This how everything looked afterwards.

Finally.

Ahh that will work. Any new overview videos? I want to see the sump area and how it is seasoning in / breaking in.
