It is ok Leroy... I posted it on the bathroom wall for you. You should have some visitors.

Take that post and click the hazard triangle in the corner. As post owner state that you want the picture removed as it contains personal information. They will knock it out.

Thanks for reporting the post for me. I followed worms advice but the hazard button was opposite to where he said it would be.

As for the corals, They come from Bali. I got them through the LFS.

Good morning Wayne,

those lights look super awesome. I've been searching for two additional
fixtures for my tank. Could you please tell us, what made the Kessils perfect for your needs?

Beat wishes

To me I have been reading about the Kessils and how long they have been in the business. Although it was horticulture, the growth they showed was amazing. So back then I was like, I wonder if they do lighting for saltwater since they were so successful with the horticulture.

So when they came out with their first lights I was impressed. When something new comes out I light to wait for all the bugs to get worked out before I purchase. For Kessil it was a matter of coming out with something easier and better.

I love the color they produce and even though the MHs and T5s are truly tested, I think Kessil has come close to their color output depending on whether you like a blue tank or white tank. I might have to accent the Kessil to add the color if I don't see the corals adjusting well. I might just do Coral and Blue plus bulbs as from researching other threads of hobbyist that use them that its the most bulbs used.

I could have waited for the new fixture to come out but I liked the simplicity of the Kessils. And with the controller it makes it easy to set where your lights are where it is color or intensity. I controller is confusing at first but I also wasn't reading the instruction to understand the use.

I wish the acclimation mode was more than 14 days. So I have to redo it so the corals will adapt better and not get shocked or stress. But I think eventually I will be able to run them at 100 percent considering I have them 18 inches above the water line. The only way to test to see if I can get away with it is to get a par meter.

As for the cost per dollar, they beat out every other LED in my opinion. Plus they use the same platform and just make it better instead of coming out with a new light.

Hope that helps. Sorry for rambling.

Thanks a lot for the explanation!
There are many really good and interesting points in there.
Since December 2014 Kessils are available here in Germany, I really like their design.
I need some additional lighting to light up the full length of my tank. I hope they work out well for you :) if they do, I'll get a couple of them, too!

Best wishes!

Sonic came over and helped me setup my Kessils and program. Here's the final product.

And here are the setting I have on acclimation mode. It has a 14 day setting and I started out at 40 percent.

Welcome to the Kessil Club!! I think you will really love those lights! I'm obviously a big fan myself. You have to love the natural shimmer! The video looks great too! My only concern would be the 70% intensity, especially with the N's vs the WE's. That may be too much to start with. Did you take any before and after PAR readings? When I switched from my Reeftech's to the Kessils, I used my par meter to match the par and then started the Kessil's off a bit lower for acclimation.
