Pretty much tell the story. I will be turning my other sump into a refugium. More water volume for me. Sump should be ready by the end of next week.

Just noticed your updated signature. I considered plasmas in the past but couldn't find anyone running them. I ran across one thread several months ago where a guy had them, didn't like them, and went back to MH. Just wondering what made you think of running LEPs?

All is not well my friend. I am not at a stand still with the build. I just for my life figure out how to do the additional 20 amp wiring to accommodate the walk around tank without anyone stepping over wire or wire being in view. If I can figure that problem out then I am cool. I still need to get the new floor down before I can make new progress and that will be done next month.

And on top of that the lower back shots that I received from the VA on the first had a negative reaction so I have been monitored ever since. it has slowed me down but has not stopped me.

I leave for Brazil in about 5 hours lol so I will catch up on this build later but so far it looks really cool. glad I'm not the only one who has the slow as the pocket book will allow approach

Well these are newly updated LEPs with dimmable ballast that can even work with the apex or any controller. I have to just get over the price tag of them. Compared to previous plasmas they produce less heat. And when you dim them they can produce a 20K look but you also lose par. I just like the combo method of MH and LEDs, or T5s and LEDs or the new hybrid LED, MH, T5 method. Going with only one style of lighting is not my thing and I call hybrids a backup method in case the primary fails.

That was the final decision to drop it down. I can take a pic for you.

I'm downsizing on the ceiling fan which is also the center point of the room. The tank will sit directly under.

I wish you the best in Brazil. Thats my dream place to visit or rather its on the bucket list. I am on a disability budget. I am surprised myself that I have this much done thus far.

If you DIY the LEDs then you are looking around approximately 250 LEDs or 4 fixtures.

Close. I already designed the fixtures that I want. I think it worked out 280 LEDs in 8 spectrums.

Ok I was off a couple LEDs. My math isn't what it use to be. lololol

Any progress? Have you made a decision on flooring or running the electrical yet?

All the electrical will run from the ceiling. So the items that need power will remain in the stand and run up through the dry chamber. I am still using the tarkett flooring. I am waiting for it to arrive. Its on back order.

Looks like its going to be you. I changed my running date to February 1st unless everything falls into place earlier. I'm going to be traveling a lot in the next two months so funds are sorta limited.

You deserve it especially having a young one all the way. In a way I am in a hurry but not gonna rush. I've taken to many shortcuts as it is. I have goals for this tank.
