600 Gallon Upgrade Build

I see you fixed that while I was repairing mine. Weird thing is it doesn't do that to the other forums when I use tapatalk. I figured it'll be fixed by now.

Have you used the Red Sea Coral Pro yet? I've used it but it leaves so much junk on my Brute I've decided to change salts to the Salinity AquaVitro. (Have a skid of 24 buckets club ordered I'm hoping will be in this week) I'd say every 3-4 months I had to empty Brutes and give a good cleaning as it'd develop a thick brown layer on the whole Brute. Previously used IO/RC and they never left that junk behind. Just throwing it out there!

Presently I just use the regular Red Sea Coral salt. I have a different mixing bin for the Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. I never really noticed it but I clean the buckets every couple weeks. I love the Red Sea stuff so far.

Looking good Leroy! Your chaeto will definitely grow better with if constantly churning. As far as the salt... had similar experience as Dustin.

One thing I have figured out, you really need to make the whole bucket of salt or use complete bags. Otherwise, your parameters will be different as things settle in the buckets and don't get mixed well.

I am glad you said that. I just noticed when i was testing my mixing water and the parameters were always different every time. I guess I better get the salt mixing station prepared now.

I finished my saltwater mixing bin.
This is the tee I made for the inside.

Then I drilled the holes to help keep the salt suspended and mixed.

This is how it looks on the inside of the mixing container.

And the final product.

Now it's just a matter of leak testing before the mixing shall commence.

I wonder how those two sides would be if you tilted it down slightly so it created a swirl on the bottom?

I forgot to show some things but I was tired and it was late after all the trips to Lowes and Home Depot.

The pump used to circulate the mix.

The water is gravity fed to the salt mixing station.

Thanks and thats exactly what I did. I on purpose didnt drill the holes perpendicular to the pipe. That way with almost 4000 GPH going through the pipe I should get some good mixing.

Thanks D. For now I just one for RO/DI and one to mix the saltwater. Each bin at full capacity can hold 275 gallons of water.

Its kind of hard unless I places ribbons on the ends or some type of safe coloring. Unless you are right up on it clear water makes it hard to see.

Just caught up and Lookin good, can't wait to see some more updates. my only question is why go with grey PVC underlay instead of the white PVC board for the bottom of the stand? I might have missed whether or not a floor went in the stand or if that was the floor.

Thanks. Been watching your build as well. The underlay is actually a shower liner. It was cheaper and I used it on my 225. Holds water in case of spills.
