Yesterday I went over the previous owners house and picked up the rest of the plumbing for the tank and a few more items.
I got a Schuran calcium reactor and co2 tank.
An a profilux doser.
We got to my place and moved the tank from here
To here:
I just filled the tank to test the closed loo which is not leaking and added Prime to the water to get the rest of the bleach smell out of the rocks. I will be doing 100% daily water changes on the tank until the smell goes away which shouldn't take more than a few days. I will post a video later of the closed loop on operation.
dang that reef savvy is a killer set up. i'm sure you just made 99.9% of the people here envy you. lol looks like your hands are going to be quite busy with these 2 tanks. cant wait to see the savvy up.

Yes it is a sexy tank. Maybe 98.9%. I am pretty modest of anyone envying me. I don't think my hands will be to busy. Everything will mature in time. Savvy might be up and running by this weekend if not next weekend.
Here is the video I promised on how the flow is created in the Reef Savvy tank. You can actually see the flow switching from clockwise to counter clockwise.
The drain and returns from the OM4 are built into the rocks. I have pics in earlier post that shows rock built around the return nozzles. Let me back track.
The OM4 drum has two holes. It can come in a variety of sequences ie 1-3,2-4, or 1-2,3-4, or 1-4,2-3 or what ever combination the drum comes as. I believe he has the first set because they are the most popular. So looking at the tank front to back, the left side is 2 in front and 1 in the back and the right side is 3 is in the front and 4 is in the back.
The motor in the Oceans Motions unit turns at a rate of one revolution per minute but you can put the motor on a simple timer to get that tidal ebb and flow effect. The position it stops in is randomized but it works very well like that.

Ok y'all this is what's going on. This past weekend I hosted a reef party with a twist. Since it was February the theme was black history month. So lots of soul food was on the menu and later describe the tank, it's operation, setup and system. Then after that there was a frag swap and I picked up a couple goodies. A fellow reefer even came by with a noise meter to see how loud my system was only to shock him that my system was running about 50 db.
As for the tank it's still on cruise. I upped the ZeoVit dosing as at the time my nitrates were hanging around 10 ppms and phosphates were averaging about .26 ppms. So after I would say a month my present readings are 5 ppms of nitrate and phosphates are around .13. So I will will go with the recommended dosing for now. I will hold off adding corals until I get the phosphates below .1 ppm.
Also for the past two weeks I setup the dosing pump as ZeoStart3 has to be dosed everyday twice a day and I also went back to what was working for me in my old tank and started dosing vinegar. I might be adding something to the mix but I will not reveal that until it is in motion.
I removed the doser from under the stand to outside of the stand. I also went to Wally World and bought a shelf system to place the doser and other products that are being dosed. So far all I have is the vinegar and ZeoStart3 on the shelf. I also placed the Master Flex pump in the shelf to feed the calcium reactor. So next on the menu is plumbing the frag tank in the system. I still don't know if I am going to place sand on the bottom or not as there will also be fish in the system. Here is a pic of the dosing setup as it is now but will be arranged soon to also accommodate where I will place the calcium reactor.
Ideas or concerns or comments are greatly appreciated.
