600 Gallon Upgrade Build

I'm trying to read through your in tire thread taking awhile :) but u still dosing zeostart? And vinegar together I'm doing zeostart and bio digest how long did it take your no3 to come down from carbon dosing?

Yes I am. I'm dosing the ZeoVit(Zeobac, Sponge Power, zeoStart, and now AAHC{Amino Acids High Concentrate}, Coral Vitalizer, Pohl's Extral{dosed after every water change}, and Coral Snow{used as a safety net to help prevent cyano} in addition to the white vinegar I'm also dosing iron citrate up to the safest level to aid in keeping my phosphates down.

Thanks ya I have a tank about same size as u and It's taking forever to get the no3 and po4 down I'm being patient but it's hard I actually thought of adding vinegar along with zeostart did u lower the recommended amount of zeostart and substitute with vinegar?or just add plus recommended amount how much vinegar u dosing? Sorry for all the question... I'm doing 5 ml zeostart a day and I'm getting ready to get 2 vibe reactors not sure yet.... Also u figure out the magnets I got a couple earth magnets to hold on jaebo mp60 power heads through 1" acrylic there scary strong and dangerous but will work

To help you out. I currently have 32 fish in my system. I didn't adjust my ZeoStart. I am currently adding 480 mls of white vinegar and 20-24(I'd have to check) mls of iron citrate. Biomate helps me with my phosphates also. It took me about 4-6 weeks to get my phosphates and nitrates down to 0 ppms. Side note, I went from 40 gallon water changes every week to every two weeks to keep my water a little dirty. Currently my nitrates are between 1-2 ppms and phosphates are currently .15 ppms and I'm contributing that to adding about 150 lbs of dead rock to my sump to accommodate the rock I don't have in my display.

Thank u the only reason I'm buggin is I feel like the 5 ml of zeostart isn't enough but I'm scared to add anything else ... Thanks again

I know its been a while since my last post. Nothing interesting has been happening. I received a spotted bristletooth tang over a week ago and its in the QT tank. I also received four 250 MH kits with icecap ballasts for free. Since the government wants to take its time refunding my money I will temporarily be using these with 6700K bulbs and accent the MHs with the BML 6 foot 14000k actinic kit. Jake Adams suggested it so I am going to roll with that for now.

I also performed my third and last 80+ gallon water change yesterday. But let me give you the short history first. The first two times it happened the hose from my carbon reactor somehow came out the filter sock and politely emptied the sump out causing both of my main pumps to fail on the first water change. Apparently after Sunday maintenance I left a towel on top of the skimmer cup and out of anger and not breathing I presume, decided to overflow the waste bucket and the next morning I woke up to a dry sump AGAIN. So I guess you can say that was my enjoyment.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Wayne. Hopefully the tank doesnt give you anymore problems. Best wishes and hopefully we hear better things in the future.

Been there man, towels straight from the dryer to the floor haha, I swear my wife is gonna kill me next time. The skimmate lockers from Avast are a life saver when it comes to angry skimmers.

Things will get there. At least your fish are not having to make an appt months in advance. Another added plus is you have salt for a water change. Nothing like salt in the old wounds.
