600 Gallon Upgrade Build

Well hello everyone. Sorry I have been AWOL but some things had taken priority. As for the tank I added a few things and took away a few things.

First I did away with Kalk. Just to much of a hassle for me. So I am dosing Parts A, B, and C and things are more stable now. I also went with all aquacultured and added some lps to the mix as you can see in the upcoming video. I added a zoa/paly, blasto, hammer, torch, frogspawn, ricordea, and goni garden.

Secondly I added 2 more Kessils over the tank. I was noticing the shadowing and the tank is more brighter. Sorry for the cloudiness but I had just turned down the Maxspect Gyres and the WP60s as they were stirring up the sand.

And lastly I added a refugium to my sump as i am trying to get to running the tank naturally as possible. But I will save the best for last near the end of the video.

definitely a nice addition on the harem and nem since you have the room to do it, looking good wayne. glad to see you bouncing back after so many ups and downs. I couldn't agree more the natural approach with adding a refugium. I have one and I swear by, just as long as you can get the algae to grow and do its job. Best wishes and hopefully all goes smooth.

Hello everyone. Where do I start?

I know it's been a while and the tank is finally (fingers crossed) and I believe I've solved the problem of my cloudiness. I added a refugium in my sump with a lot of cheato and was still dosing the regular recommended amount of Red Sea Nopox at the same time. Slowly as my cheato was growing I was not reducing the Nopox so I believe I was having a massive bacteria bloom in my tank. I have reduced it weekly until I met my nitrate range I recommend (2.5 ppm) as that keeps my phosphates around the .03-.07 range depending on what I'm feeding.

Also I've added a lot of aquaculture frags and there are some pieces I'm trying to recover like a rainbow pectina that is left of my space invader pectina.

So here is the latest video of my system . Enjoy.

Wow! Your clowns are incredible. The coraline algae is solid. Your tank is very well done and a year from now it will be stunning.

Incredible build. Are you still happy with your kessils now that you've had them for 8 months? Are you up to 8 now?
I am more than happy. But I'm up to 10 over the tank now. Only because I'm using the 360nes. If I was using the wides I'd probably be using only 8.
