600 Gallons System - i2ik's Journal

Thanks Ed! After seeing your old/new tank and reading a couple of your post on the aquascape, i will be using a lot of your knowledge on aquascaping to make mine. Looking for an open look with lots of place for the corals to growth.

Unfortunatly, i am stock again waiting for some acrylic rods so i can start making the rock work with the shape i want. I might not need it, but i think its safer to used some and making sure it wont fall off once i start glueing the corals. Meanwhile, i have been looking around in the LFS in my area and found out some really nice place to get some corals! Cant wait to be able to get some corals and fishes... such a long project. Its been more than a year now that i dont have a tank at home.

The sand is in, there is for a total of 240 pounds of sand, i still have 1 bag of 40 pounds left that i might use. The vortech pump have a very impressing wide flow as i can see on the sand where it is affective. I will need to make sure that once the aquascape is done, that i wont be able to see the bottom glass.

Can you share with me the LFS ? :)

Great job on your tank and setup so far...the quality couldn't be better !

I will be making the aquascape in a couple of minutes, pictures will be on tonight or tomorrow once the water get clearer :D

Now, knowing that i will received my rocks today, i decided to put the bulbs in my pendants. I realized that on my 3 single Sifligoi infinity XR4 SE, there is one that is different from the others. The mogul base is showing off which make it MUCH HARDER to put the Ushio 400W SE bulb. I had to used force to make it fit. Once it is in, since the mogul is off side, the bulb is not centered as the other pendant, so i ended up with one pendant less effective as the end of the bulb is not even showing up in the reflector. Just wrote a PM to AO as i think they send me an old version of the pendant.

will put pictures later :) waiting for the water to clear up a bit. The aquascape is not done yet. I got tired after a few hours and decided to continue later on. I will still need to put more rocks. the sides are not finished yet. I had only 260 pounds yesterday but i dont think i will put much more into it. maybe another 40-60pounds more :)

Pictures of the reflectors to show you guys the difference:

FTS: The lights are not on the rack. Quite happy of the result! Nice spread and my taste of color. I though it would look more yellow but with the T5, its the perfect color to my eyes :D I was going to get some AC 14K but after seeing the result, i am going to stick with the Ushio 10K!

The aquascape is almost done. I dont like both sides and will be playing until i get it right. Will also put more rocks. The center is pretty much what i was looking for :) Let me know what you think!

That looks wicked i2ik,I love the aquascaping and the white sand look, your canopy is very nice also.Could you show a FTS again but this time include your sump and equipment thanks.

Jamie.

very very nice- can u please point me towards the specifics about your fans as i'm really interested in them for my current project TYVM

Great tank and built!

Looks great! Did they fix the light yet? Thats definitely tweaked.

I'll read back - but the 10K's - is that what came with the fixture? I also got 10K's with mine but never fired them up - went with Radiums. I was told by Alessandro that they are not Ushio, they are Osram.

love it! nice Scaping! i agree you need some more! the rite hand side of the pic look ok but the left need work! i personally mite want the see less of the back wall but i have to say that looks grate! one question is there enough flow in the middle just that all the pumps are at the ends of the tank!

Thank you all!

Jamie: I will get a FTS with the stand and all, but for now, its a MESS! As soon as it get better, i will definitly will :D

gasman0509: The fans are very well build. There is the 3-4-5 fans model and you can get them at aquarium specialty in the states. Very quiet, i dont even hear them working and if you have the prolifux controllor, you can make it connected to them to make it control the speed depending on your temperature. Very nice and its quite strong.

Fliger: I checked them all and it was written Ushio 10k on them. thats wierd that is was labeled as Osram.. I am not sure but i think that Naka also went with the 10K Ushio and i belive that is what he received too.

bad bager 1: Thank you! i was also afraid not having enough flow in the center as the vortech flow is very large but they dont go further than 3 feet iwould say. I still have flow in the middle, but maybe just not enough. Since my prolifux can also control Tunze, i just got a tunze 6200 and might get another one. I will try to hide it in the back behind the rocks so i wont see it.
