6000 gallon system - Project.

Here's one of the inserts that are nearing completion that we'll be putting in later this week. Should have the monster plumbed and running by the weekend!

Pictures to follow....

can I ask how big the openings in the top are? Just looking at those inserts makes me wonder about getting them in place!

No one has asked the obvious question.. Where are you going to get 6000 gallons of RO Water?? Or are you trucking it in??

Lots of waterflow, lots of UV/Ozone/Carbon/Skimmer and a hard brush if necessary.... Doubting it will be necessary for a long time...

We have an LFS that has those plastic tunicates in a display tank and you can't tell they are not real. They have been overgrown a bit and clowns are hosting in them. It's very cool looking! :D

Those rockwork guys are good. I've used DLM, (Manwarren) before, and their stuff is great too. They even had large anenomes out of colored silicone, with glowing tips. Incredibly realistic.
It was always hard to talk the powers that be into using REAL rock and inverts for a cheaper price!
Thanks for the update, and thanks for sharing this project.

Can't wait to see more pictures... I think this is an awasome thread & I will be following along for the ride.... I wish I was in your line of business Jamessurq, nice job by the way

Nope "Rock and Waterscape". Pretty nice huh?

Yeah, they look great. Do they sell to the public?

how do you keep the algae from building up on the fake coral?? do you have to brush it off with a tooth brush? i've always wondered how they keep them so clean.

yes - brushing may be needed occasionally. With the filtration that's on this system, I'm not worried about any big algae issues.

Worked our butts off on this tank the last 2 days. Plumbing is hard work. We're making headway though and I'll take a few pictures by the end of the weekend and post them. Right now, it's SO hot working I don't want to get sweat all over the camera or have it sit in my car and melt :)
