600g FOWLR

my meredthi was miserable on prazi... not faded color but just wouldnt even look at food and sulked... after two days i removed.... he did a total 180. Hes in Nitrofuracin green currently and then Cupramine after. Hopefully that goes well. Then i will try to fatten him up for the 5 day cupramine treatment. I know he will not eat at all during that.

5 day prazi treatment not cupramine

The male meredithi was dead this morning. Female is doing great....not sure what was wrong with him.

WOW :( im so sorry to hear that!! I would still treat the tank with prazi and cuppramine cause whatever got him (ich or flukes) can still get the female!! Good luck

That's what I don't understand. Neither copper or prazi helped the male. Fresh water bath showed no flukes. Never saw anything visible on him except he turned a bit pale, but so is the female... I'm still scratching my head.

Sorry to hear that Josh. I hope she pulls through!

Thanks for the CP! Had I not obtained it, I think my clownfish pair would be dead by this time. They are doing well with a little unrest as they haven't been the only two fish in a tank since they've existed.

My lack of being home often haunts me when QT'ing fish.... velvet took the female and fasciatus...I'm guessing the male also. I was bringing copper back up, but just not fast enough.

Sorry to hear about the loss.... Sometimes the deck is just stacked against us. Hard to tell if there was just something internally wrong from the start.

Know that you did all that you could.

Difficult to say anything would have turned out different even if you were home. Velvet is so bad.... and quick.

Again, sorry to hear. :(

Thanks guys, been a while since I've dealt with velvet...maybe 6 years.
Qt's are getting tore down, sanitized, ready for next round.

Good to hear the clown's are alright. Are you going to try another multibar pair?

I'm very sorry to read this Josh, but at least it was confined to your quarantine. Good luck with the next batch!

Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately with velvet, even if you are present to recognize and react to it, it is still a very quick killer. I lost my old 180 to velvet in 2006 after I put in a juvie Regal Angel without Qt'ing it. I lost a prized Goldflake Angel and some other high end wrasse. It was devastating at the time and I almost left the hobby. Unfortunately, if you are able to see it on the fish, it is already too late for most. I only had two fish survive, a clownfish and an adult Chrysurus Angel.

I agree with your sentiment that it is unbelievable that people still do not utilize proper QT methods. But then again, I was attacked in another thread about a month ago for suggesting such a crazy, novel idea like utilizing a proper QT for a rare Juvi Conspic Angel. My take is if a hobbiest has the money to buy such high-end fish, why not use some scratch to also put up a QT . I learned the hard way, and some others did too evidently...

I look forward to some new additions after you sterilize the QT system :D

The clowns didn't make it, they past away this afternoon. :(

I will be getting a new pair of multibar angels the second or third week of January from Kevin for another round. This time around, no other fish in the tank besides them and I will put a divider in to make sure I can get the smaller one fattened up.
