600gal (96x48x30)

As abrasive and uncouth starpolyp is in his posts, I have to agree with him a bit. There are new reefers every day who come to RC to learn from threads like this one. We need to be big enough to point out our mistakes so others can learn from them.

starpolyp, pm sent.

I do not disagree with "constructive" criticism at all. I think all concerns should be voice. and granted, comments like the ones above do no one any good, or harm, they are just comments. However, I do disagree with posting after a terrible thing has happened saying "I told you So" and carrying on about how horrible the set up was. Granted, a lot of things can be avoided with proper planning, but there is a line between cunstructive and cruel. Anyway, I guess we should all learn to be cautious about whos advice we take. Anyone on here could be very experienced, while others have no idea, and there is no real way to tell. However, I still don't think a loss needs to be rubbed in a persons face.

So, back on topic......

Has this tank been moved to the new house, and has it been rebuilt? how did you go about the rebuild?

WOW, This thread has seen quite a bit of action in the past few days...

Jasontkd, the tank was cut down, the glass was crated, and it is at the new house in IA where it still remains in the crate... I am debating on a rebuild of the 600gal... I would like to rebuild it but this house has a smaller basement, so I have been debating about selling it and getting something in the 200-300 range, I don't really want to and I still don't know what I am going to do, I have been busy with work and the new house that this is lower on my list at the moment...

Basement looks big enough to me. :D

House looks great Shawn. (I'll probably get flamed for that compliment since I don't know anything about home construction  )

congrats on your beautiful home Shawn as i see a lot of potential spots :D. J you don't know anything at all just stand clear . it took me 3 months after i moved in to destroy the house and make room for my display, but now i can sit back and chill

looks like a nice fishroom there on the right of that pic :D

LOL if you are talking about this room it's going to be a bathroom...

I was thinking I could place it on the middle of this wall between where the top of the stairs start and the doorway to the (soon to be bathroom)...

J will chime in very soon :D. so how big is the mansion?

LOL, it's far from a mansion... It's 2065 sq ft / 2 story with a 3 car garage...

1st Floor (plan)

2nd Floor (plan)

I have some "finished" outside pics, but they are not uploaded at this time and I am at work right now...

This is near finished, missing the front porch railing and the planter boxes were switched out...

This is a pic of the back minus the decking...

are these models home you can choose from, i like the design. i did the same thing as didn't have no time to contract the work myself. there is a big house in back left of the first pic.

sweet i see a great spot, right below the stair on 1st floor plan, equipment and sump in garage. if the stairs are 5' wide then that's the size you go with, it will be an upgrade :D

you gotta love walkout basements....Our house has one and I don't think I'll ever own another house without one :D they kinda make you feel like a litlle person in a giants world when you stand at the back and look up :)
