I took a 6025 that I hadn't used in a while and try to run it today and discovered the the metal shaft inside is broken into three pieces. As well as the bottom white part of the impellar has come off. Can you tell me where I can find a new metal drive shaft impellar and how much it should cost me?

The metal shaft is not replaceable. Send in the pump with your receipt, assuming it is less than 2 years old we will replace it under warranty. The shaft is now a titanum alloy so this won't reoccur, we also changed the plastic to incorporate graphite fiber reinforcement.

They should do neither but some of the early models had both of these problems which have since been taken care of thru pump changes/revisions

How much will it cost if I can't find my receipt? I don't hang on to fish tank related receipts since it reminds me how much money I spend on it.:) I believe I bought mine last year at a LFS. I talked to them and they said there computers crashed and they lost all there information before last summer. They are trying to get me one from there accountant. I went through the pics of my tank and the first time I seen the 6045 was in Jan.08. I have monthly pics of the tank going back to 04.
