6055 DC powered? Stand-alone?

Are the 6055 powerheads 12 VDC or 115VAC powered? If they are DC powered, does that mean they come with some type of AC adaptor? Can they be used without a Tunze controller?

What I hope I can do is get two of the 6055's and run them toggling ON/OFF just using my ACjr until I can afford to also get the 7096 controller or the one that integrates with my ACjr (which would be ideal). Will this idea work? If so, until I get the integrated controller, should I limit the cycle time to greater than 15 min or can it be shorter period (5 min)?

The tunze nano come with an AC adapter, it can be run with or without the controller. You can use the aquasurf on your AC controller to control the pump. You don't have to run it 15 mins on/off cycle because these pump design for faster interval.

Excellent! Thanks! I will get them and run them directly from my ACjr (5 min intervals) with the adapters plugged into the DC8 until I can afford to add the Aquasurf.

They work on 12-24V DC. They come with a switchable AC-DC adapter that you can set in 3V increments to adjust the speed.
