6060 and coral placement

I want to put a 6060 in my 55 gallon tank. I have a bare bottom so I'm not worried about sand storms. But how close can corals be to the start of the stream? Green star polyps specifically.

Star polyps seem to do best in lower flow that is indirect. The Streams are primarily oriented toward SPS corals and certain species of leather. I think in all honesty this will be too much flow for the polyps in such a small aquarium.
