60G Cube Dream Tank!

OK, so we picked up a little 60\40 Onyx clown 2 weeks ago, and have been raising him in my small 6G Fluval Edge, until tonight... We moved him into the main tank and he is fattening up nicely. To give him any chance of success, I paired him with our big boy GBTA, and so far he's happy as can be just exploring him.. I took a youtube video of him hosting, just ignore the audio, it's me talking to my wife.

Well until I figure out how to embed it, here is a link you can click! YouTube - Our baby onyx clown hosting his gbta

Is this new clown in with the true perc and saddle back? Do you plan to remove the saddle back?

I don't at the moment, she's actually really peaceful with everyone in the tank especially with the other clown, but we will play it by ear. As long as the saddleback is fed, she's actually a really chill fish, but even in general she's rather chill.

- Highlighter Acro from Exotic Aquatics
- 2x unknown acros... jeff told me the names, but I forgot :)

Galaxea.... I've always wanted one, and thank you Tom for the frag.. He's in the back right corner bordered completely by live rock and several inches on all sides.. He won't be hurting anything over here!!

Thanks for looking!

I like the long tentacle plate! I wish I still had some room on my sand for one!

Thanks!! We purposely left a LOT of room in the front for sand corals.... The galaxea should be just fine in that back corner all by itself..

Hahah, I did that too...until all the room was full of corals. :bounce3:

My wife HATES a lot of stuff on the sand and having it be packed... So every weekend whatever can be mounted, gets mounted..... We just went through it today and mounted all of those SPS, duncans, etc..

Good stuff!

I really like that nem! Very nice tank.

The only thing that may raise concern, and I could be seeing it wrong, but it looks like you epoxyed your clam to the rock? FWIR they're not suppose to be attached as its stresses em out and can lead to death. Unless its just there to lean against/stabilize it.

Thanks, nice catch but that was just to stabilize him as our urchin likes to bulldoze everything... That is no longer there in the latest pictures because he has put a firm footing on that rock and not moving anywhere.

Ah good to know, totally should have looked closer at the newer pictures.

Not a problem!! I wish my picture taking skills were much better because it all looks much better in person... Whenever I have access to a much better camera I'll take some more updated shots that accurately reflect my tank.

I hate that too. My tank in person I think looks really nice. But as soon as a snap a picture of it, it looks all dirty and nasty when its not.

Hey guys... It's been a while since I have posted anything, so here is a youtube video showing my reef and the progress... In general, everything is growing, growing, growing, especially the various SPS colonies I have acquired in the last couple of weeks!!

Sorry about me turning the iPhone on its side, I totally forgot you guys are going to be contorting your heads now... heh... Anyways, hope it's neat to check out the progress.

Check it out, let me know what you think, the tank is now officially 3 months old!

60G Cube Reef Updates!!

Tank is looking good! Can you set the Saturation on that Iphone video camera? LEDs always make stuff look so crazy on cell phone cameras.

To be honest, I have NO idea... I just got the iPhone the other day..... I am just looking at it, and it doesn't seem like there is ANY control of anything in the darn camera section..... go figure Apple..

BUt thanks man, I am pretty proud of how the tank is looking right now. I'm new to the hobby, but spend a LOT of time and money on the tank. I hope it shows :-)

Love the GBTA. Yours was the first I'd ever seen and got me hooked. You should get a sunburst BTA and complete the trifecta, heh.

Thanks for the kind words! One thing I will say is not all GBTAs are not created equal in terms of appearance. My LFS just got a bunch in and they were the standard dark green color and they really thought they were nice. Upon seeing a picture of mine they now know what I mean by color!

About the trifecta, my buddy might be passiv along a lemondrop at some point so the trifecta will be completed at some point.

Now I am slowly getting my wife to warm up to a nice 125G tank or something of that sort. Can we say addicted????

would you mind cutting your GBTA in half and waiting for it to heal and mail it to me? thanx !

I absolutely would mind doing that, sorry not going to happen.

There is a long line of people that are already on the list in the event that this guy splits.
