60G custom tank - need help!

So the decision is on a 36x24x16 60G custom-made tank. It will be braceless w/ polished, bevelled edges, drilled for two holes and a teeth-less corner overflow.

I need some questions to be asked for me to answer to get this going. All advice & opinions are welcome. This is an open discussion to help me reinforce my decision or maybe change it. I will post some sketch-ups later of my tank, sump, etc.

Why the teethless overflow? Wont you have fish that could sucked over the edge?

If you havent had the tank built yet,i would do an external overflow.

cashman, I'll be building the overflow box myself due to the ridiculous cost of having the builder make it. Since I don't have skills with cutting out teeth, I'm going to build it w/o and place an eggcrate on top. This will act as a barrier for both fish and snails.

BLKTANG, an external overflow was an option but since I rather have no plumbing show when viewed from the side, I'm leaning for an internal one. This will make sure all plumbing is kept within the tank and stand.
