hey roger

My last old style stream is throwing an alarm the second its plugged in. Ive soaked/cleaned it in vinegar. Not sure if anything can be done to fix it. Should I send the pump in?

thanks

Matt

You can, but I am out of the upgrade kits for a couple weeks so if I could not repair it, it would be a while before we had anything to replace it with. I will also be on vacation next week, so anything that comes in after Friday will be received and I will get to it in the order received after the 22nd.

Hi Roger,

My 6100 also sets off the alarm. A couple of times, the pump did start up, but most of the time just sets the alarm. I tried different Everything is clean. By swapping parts, I have determined that the driver is the cause. The driver is a 7240.26 with a manufacture date of 03/12/02.

I guess I let it sit too long. The pump worked fine when I put it in storage. Took it back out after a couple of years and now get the alarm. I don't see any corrosion or fried components on the board in the driver.

Any suggestions? I thought these were no longer repairable.

I can repair somethings like bad/broken connections on the board provided they are not caused by saltwater. In general the best repair is to find a good used driver and 7240.260 or 7240.270 would work. I don't have any at this time but you might check ebay or the used forums here. Be sure the pump cord has no breaks, a common cause on older pumps is a crack in the cord wicking water back to the driver. As an alternative, we do have the upgrade kits available but out of stock for 2-3 weeks-

My osmolator just started reading level even when it's not. I'm going to send in both the 6100 and the osmolator tomorrow. Thanks

Received the pump and osmolator back today. As always Tunze customer service came through with flying colors!

Thanks again Roger/Craig
