hi roger just got 6100 and i noticed every five minutes or so my 6100 blows out bubbles. the pump is located at least 8-10 inches below water level and the screens opening is pointed upwards. i rotated the screen up in case any microbubbles would accumulate underneath there and caused the bubbles. even with it up bubbles still appear. whats the cause? thanks in advance

There are a few possible causes, most are interactions with water chemistry. If the problem gets worse as the light hours progress, the cause is oxygen saturation. The remedy is removing some algae or reducing the photo period/ intensity.

If the problem is constant and the KH is high it is CO2 in excess and it is degassing, lower the KH. Above 12 degrees, this could be a cause.

If the pump is dirty, particularly the upper bearing or the hole in the magnet, increased vacuum would degass the water.

I have both seio 1500 and tunze 6100 in the tank but the tunze is the only ph making bubbles. What I notice is that when the tunze changes speed I see bubbles.

The drive units have different designs and create varying amounts of vacuum, if the pump is positioned at least 6 inches below the surface with the solid portion of the screen facing up, the only possibility is degassing of the water which would have one of the cause above.
