About a week ago the alarm went off on one of my 6200s. I took the pump out of the tank and inspected it. There was a small amount of calcium build up on the pump, but it had only been 2 months since its last cleaning, so it was nothing major. I soaked the pump in venigar and cleaned it up. When I put the pump back in the tank it seemed to work fine. 5 or six days later the alarm sounded again when the pump came out of feed mode. I checked to see if the pump was clogged in any way. The propellor wasn't spinning freely, so i removed it and then reinserted it after a quick rinse. I then turned the pump back on and it worked for about 10 seconds. Then it stopped again. At that point i smelled something burning and determined it was coming from the driver. The driver was also incredibly hot to the touch. I then unplugged the unit from the wall and have not messed with it since.
Is the pump or the driver defective? What do I need to do to get it fixed? The 6200 constitutes half of my tank's flow, and I don't want to wait a week or more to have the problem resolved.
Thanks in advance
Brad
