6212 Wavebox and power heads

Hello---I was under the impression when you install a wavebox you dont need powerheads. I have been told on reef discussions that you still need to run power heads.
Also some people say to run them 24/7 others say no.---Jerry

I have the Wavebox on my 300g and still have closed loop. My understanding you still need a "current" to move the water and "waste" around. The Wavebos just kind of puts the water in a back and forth movement, which is good but the water doesnt circulate.

Thats my story and I am sticking to it.

You generally need additional flow, the flow from a wavebox is just a rocking motion with no direction to it, you have to have directional flow to sweep away debris.
