62g in Wall sps build

Thanks Mark
I figured it was turf. Its only ona few rocks and on this cane. But its bugging me big time. Need to find a way to rid of it

mexican turbo snails will help you get rid of it and keep it under control. not sure if your fish would allow for them or not. more than likely its settling detritus that is causing it. I would blow the rocks off daily and increase flow in that area and you should be in business.

I have 2 Mexican turbos, and they wont touch the stuff. Not even my lawnmower blenny. As far as flow that are gets plenty, since there is a gyre 130 on that side that hammers it.:*( .

you probably don't have enough to make a dent in it. also the size of the snail matters too. if you get the biggest ones, they won't eat as much. thats what an old timer in the hobby told me(also my experience). Also, you may be getting constant flow in that area and not lifting the detritus out of the area. not sure what your 130 is set on, but maybe change it around a little. since is the algae in the sand as well? I try to clean my sand every week and that completely solved my turf/gha problem. Basically lifting the food(phosphate) out of the sand.

Guess ill crank up the gyre a notch. Its at 60/60 alt gyre now. Ipl also get some small turbos, and other snails as you recommended. Im skittish about getting a sea hare since it may release chems in the water. But i may have to resort to it.

Yes, a few more snails of all varieties will help you. Sea hare is a last resort. Your problem is minuscule compared to some people's. You could try gfo as well, but you will see inhibited coral growth. Water changes and critters seem to work the best in the long haul. Beautiful setup though! you'll get it straight.

Quick update
4th water change with af salt last night, and almost a month into it. I can clearly see improvements in everything. All Sticks are ding great, growth has started to take off. I can clearly see it, since I have had to up Componet dosing 123 to from 8 to 12ML a day to maintain alk at 7.7. This is the first time in a very long time that my tank has done this. I think I can blame this on the coral B, I'm thinkin of upping the dose to 3 drops see If I get even better growth. Colors are great, well at least in person( sorry I cant take pics with LED) I'm horrible. Only top downs come out ok. Next item in line its not any fish stuff, but a DSLR lol. THE only thing that look horrible is my setosa, that is very pale and bleached. Thinking of chucking it. Ever since I took it out to frag it, since it was growing out of control it just hast never been the same. Besides that nothing bad

My new skimmer is working great, finally breaking in and getting nice gunk out. I just have to tweak it now a bit , but besides that no complaints(specially for the Price). As Matt and Perry have said in their post, coral e seems to lighten some corals out and morph their colors.. However not in a bad way. This is my current dosing
Daily
NP pro 2drops
Probio S 2 drops
Coral B 2 drops
Coral E 2 drops
EOD
Coral A 2 drops
Coral V 2 drops
Lugols 1 drop
THanks n Enjoy.

Sooooooo. Big news..
Just switched to 6bulb sunpower t5 :0. Hoping I wont regret it. Maybe I can get my tank so semi look like Matt and Perry's , our fearless AF leaders !!. I went with 3 blue+, 1 Purple+,1 True Actinic, 1 AB special as Perry suggested .

So bad new.. well in a way. Apparently ati 24" are out of stock everywhere, not even ATI in Cali has them. :-/ . TO top it off, I sold and shipped my lights already. So no light for now. goin to have to find someone to loan me at least an cheapo led. smh

OK so the distributor was nice enough to lend me a spare t5 fixture, until my lights come in in a few weeks. However , it will be Friday. So im kinda worried of leaving the tank without lights for 2 days. Will me corals be ok?? what do you coral gurus think?

They will be fine. I'm literally in a 3day blackout myself trying to kill this algae I'm battling

Thank Sean. Guess I can stop freaking out. HEY, this way maybe that dang turf algae will die as well. I really wanted my lights now. :headwally::headwally: guess I have to wait a few weeks

Lights have been off for the last 2 days, so to acclimate i will only run these today for about 4 hrs. Dont want to shock the corals. What do yall think?
