65W set up?

RADIOACTIVCORAL

New member
I currently have a 4X65W orbit fixture that needs new bulbs. The current set up has two (2) dual actinic and two (2) dual daylights with the square pins. Would it be ok to use two 14,000K and two Actinic 460nm? or should I stay with the duals? Is there a better ultimate setup?

By the way I would like to keep as much corals as I can with the power compacts. I would actually like to have Halides but unfortunately right now with school for the kids I don't have the funds.

Thanks in advance.

I think that bulb selection would be fine. I went with a very similar selection over my 75 and am happy with the way it turned out/looks. I went with the UVL bulbs that have the built in reflector. IDK if the built in reflectors really help, but us PC guys need every little bit of help we can get.
As far as corals go I keep an open brain on the sand bed, a trumpet, frogspawn, and some shrooms on the rock work with no problems. I do have some ricordia as well that are doing nice.
In the past I've even managed to keep multiple BTA's with minimal effort.

I'd say if you stick with softies and most LPS corals you'll have good results.:)
