It will hurt the solatube and he will turn purple with pain No Dave there won't be any effect on the colour , only intensity will be effected but marginally around 5%If you bend the light in the Solatube like that, won't it change the colour?

So is the disperser to spread the light throughout the tank?
That;s correct Anbosu as the sunlight in Thailand is too strong to concentrate in a single focused beam hence the need to disperse it.
Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen one of those used before.
Are you going to run any color filters on it or just straight daylight?
So is the disperser to spread the light throughout the tank?
Yes What I meant to say is that the intensity is the same but is spread across the tank so that there is no single focused beam with full intensity which will inflict harmful caustic effect. That solatube diffuser will create some great caustics effects with all those fresnel lenses. Can't wait to see the results on your tank. I saw it in action on interior spaces, but never above an aquarium. However, I doubt it will attenuate intensity, it will help spread light evenly across a wider area.
You have no idea what you're doing and are going to fail miserably with this setup - is something I would never tell you!
Nice build man.

Are those Black mangroves (Avicennia germinans) or Red (Rhizophora mangle) ??
I'm thinking A. germinans, but would like to make sure.
