If you bend the light in the Solatube like that, won't it change the colour? ;)

It will hurt the solatube and he will turn purple with pain:) No Dave there won't be any effect on the colour , only intensity will be effected but marginally around 5%
 
You have no idea what you're doing and are going to fail miserably with this setup - is something I would never tell you!

Are those Black mangroves (Avicennia germinans) or Red (Rhizophora mangle) ??
I'm thinking A. germinans, but would like to make sure.
 
That;s correct Anbosu as the sunlight in Thailand is too strong to concentrate in a single focused beam hence the need to disperse it.

Are you going to run any color filters on it or just straight daylight?
 
That solatube diffuser will create some great caustics effects with all those fresnel lenses. Can't wait to see the results on your tank. I saw it in action on interior spaces, but never above an aquarium. However, I doubt it will attenuate intensity, it will help spread light evenly across a wider area.
 
Fish room is almost finished.

In the picture : apex and energy bars , Calcium reactor, Phosphate remover , Carbon reactor and Kalk stirrer , Ozone reactor.

The manufacturer has already filtered out the heat from the sun ray . I won't be putting anymore filters but will add supplementary LED lights.

Yes What I meant to say is that the intensity is the same but is spread across the tank so that there is no single focused beam with full intensity which will inflict harmful caustic effect.
 
Special strain of bacteria extracted from mangrove roots .

It has been dried and seeded in rice bran


Now mixed the bacteria in sea water and activate under sunlight for 5 mins.
 
Rainy season in Thailand does cause a minor problem so we have to add rainproof shade to stop rainwater getting into the tank.
