7,000 litres Natural reef tank - Thailand

The tank with additional supplementary LED lights at 19:00. You can see that brown algae almost completely gone.

Seems like another amazing tank from Thailand. Subscribed.

May i ask where you got the 2" educators?

Thanks
Caspian

Can you please post the specs on your mangrove sprinkler system.

Nozzle brand, pipe size, and pump would be appreciated.

I'm also curious about the distance from the top of the mangrove to the lights- did you leave enough room for it to grow? What's a good distance for proper lighting using T5s?

Well it is locally made in Thailand , just normal mist sprinkler use for garden and a high pressure pump. It costs me around 50 pounds inclusive everything .IMHO you can get quite close to t5s because it does not produce much heat but should leave about 60 cms room for the mangrove to grow. You will need to prune and cut the mangrove anyway .

Very interested in that bacteria extract!
Fish room looks fantastic as well.
This surely will be an epic display. Can't wait to watch as it matures and the diversity of organisms flourish !!!

I noticed that the bacteria extract has cleaned up the detritus at the bottom of the sump really well . My assistant was ill for a day and the day he came back to work, he asked me whether I cleaned up the sump myself. I was going to ask him the same question too so now I know it is the work of bacteria extract . Hopefully the system can carry on and balance the nitrogen cycle in the tank with the help from bacteria extract.

That was something I was going to ask you about in the coming weeks.
Due to the massive amount of macroalgae that I grow and harvest, as well as heavy feeding, which I believe to be the best means of preventing disease after quarantine, I get a large amount of detritus build up in most tanks. There are times when the system is at high nutrient levels, mostly because of this fact, I believe. I employ a very large Protein Skimmer with dual becketts, and a large reactor with various solid carbon biopellets. Even so, nutrient levels remain high. In the US there are commercially available bacteria products, which I use on a rotating basis between 4 or 5 brands, hoping that by not using just one brand I am allowing numerous bacterial strains to exist with each other. Perhaps a synergistic effect is what I'm after. There are also products like those marketed as "instant gravel cleaner" on the freshwater side of the hobby, which I assume are different bacteria that help to breakdown detritus and other larger particulates.

You are still planning to not use a protein skimmer, if possible, correct?

I hope, and I believe you Wil be successful in keeping the nitrogen and phosphorous levels undetectable by these natural means! It would be very satisfying to see that one can use less technology and more biology too keep a beautiful reef aquarium with a low nutrient level!!

Tank glass bottom is totally cleaned purely from the work of bacteria present in the system without any human intervention.

The build is coming along great man.. You are doing a great job with the thread and more importantly with the system. Very interesting read and it's great to follow something that's so out of the ordinary for the hobby but really on target with the nature side of what we are all trying to do..

Is the mangrove extract something that's commercially available to the masses? Or is it just a local secret that you guys are going to keep around for a stealthy upper hand on nutrient control =).. I personally would love to try some of it out in my larger frag system that's going to be macro driven filtration with the help of a large protein skimmer.

It is not yet available to the masses but I am trying to persuade my friend to make it available commercially . My tanks both the sump are completely clean from the work of this special strain bacteria. I will let you know when it becomes possible.

I am amazed by the work of bacteria in my lower sump. I have never cleaned the sump and yet it is spotless with no detritus.

How´s the bacteria comercialized ?? Can we buy it on-line ? How do you know how much to add ?? is there a video or web page we can see ??

I am negotiating with my friend to go commercial with this bacteria extract and if I am successful then I will let you know.

Now you can see the difference and how fast the bacteria can clean all the detritus and unwanted brown algae.
