Hey all, I posted this to my local reef club forum and figured yall might enjoy watching my tank progress as well:

Equipment:
Mr. Aqua 7.5g bowfront rimless
Oceanrevive Evergrow D120 dimmable full spectrum LED (being shipped still)
EHEIM Jaeger 50w heater
Custom epoxied aquascape
10lbs black and white semi course Aragonite
IKEA Stand
Will be LPS Dominant with lots of zoas and montipora
Here it is! Finished cycling while we were on vacation and the light arrived the day before we left. Got home and set it all up first thing!

Lights are at 5% right now because...

I added the war coral! (Won it at local reef club meeting a while back and my buddy has been babysitting it)
Here's the scape, lots of epoxy was used.

Got a sexy shrimp and pom pom crab today from petco, the crab has one anemone and I'm hoping it will split it. Apparently the two aren't speaking while in acclimation...

Ultra GSP

Duncan and purple Monti

Toadstool and red Monti

Purple and green hammer and bright green Monti

Black sun coral

Pom pom crab!

War coral. After coming home tonight i realized there's some skeleton showing on the right side, it looks old though. There's some algae growth on it. I need to look in the morning to see if there's any new Skelton showing but I'm worried about it. Im gonna move it too so it's shaded completely, and see if that helps. The rest of the coral looks amazing though, nice red and greens and the feeders come out all the time. It looks prefectly healthy except that small part of exposed skeleton. So confused.

And hopefully going down to austin this weekend to pick up a fungia plate. Gonna hit up the LFS in the area while im down there and keep an eye out for some nice montipora.

Some new additions from my austin trip today

Tiny frogspawn frag, about the size of a quarter

Tiny green fungia plate, quarter sized as well

Fairy Dust Palythoa, 7 heads

My first attempt at a decent price acro! (Forgot the name, will have to text the seller about it)

Another picture of the acro, it's about 2.5" And a small 1/4" piece that broke off in transit next to it

The diamond in the rough! My score of the day. A $5 damaged fungia plate. The owner said it probably wasn't going to make it. I got it home and it has already inflated really well, and other then the damaged part it looks completely healthy. I'm gonna try and feed it tonight to see if it will take pellets. If it does…looks like I may be in luck. I'm fairly certain it will recover in time though.

This is the picture of the damaged side. Some skeleton showing and maybe about 1/4 of it is deflated. The whole thing is about the size of a jam jar lid.

Guess what this is! Little guy is in acclimation at the moment. I'll post again when he's out.

Aquatek had a Nautilus! It was SO COOL! Never seen one before, blew my damn mind to watch it swim around.

Please forgive my camera phone pictures. I need a real camera...

A few new euphyllias I picked up from a local reefer along with a tiny Eye of Rah Zoa frag. Lot's of algae in his tank so it's slowly dying off in mine.

New Yuma I picked up yesterday, looking good already!

Updated FTS (No Yuma in this one yet)

Am/Ni/Na remain at 0
Phosphates range from 0-.03 with salifert
Calcium was at 540 as of a test earlier (salifert as well)
-Not sure why it jumped from stable 420 to 540 in a week…may have to re-test
Temp stable at 79.7-81.1
The tank is past the diatom phase and picking up speed fast with the hair algae phase. Got a few Nerites, but we all know time is the best cure for new tank syndrome. At first I was worried my phosphates had kicked up cause of all the new algae types I've been seeing. But after a few quick tests my mind was put at ease, just the tank doing what it does best and becoming stable (slooooowly)

This tank is actually inspired from my old 12g long from mr aqua! I love those tanks, but the lighting requirements make it very expensive. You either need LED floods or very long T5 for the tank, which is why I switched to a smaller normal sized tank lol.

Small update, currently battling algae. It's either hair algae, bryopsis, or dinoflagellates. Either way, I'm lowering nutrient import and doing a week long "no hands in the tank" experiment to attempt to let the algae take care of itself. If no improvement in a week I'll have to resort to peroxide treatment. Corals have been somewhat unhappy recently, which was the reasoning behind keeping my hands out of the tank. I'm sure moving them too much, bumping them and such probably upsets them. Started last night and they already look better. Can't be too upset though, look, my hammer is spawning!

New spot for the tank

Lookin sexy

Oh wait, what? It's gone? No, I don't have a fish tank. SUCK IT RENTAL COMPANY.

I actually didn't go through with the treatment. The algae is slowly going away on its own. The only thing left is some bryopsis (I think). Been too busy setting up our nursery for the babies that will be here any time now.

well thats no prob its not particularly fast growing so theres always time to catch up. just recently I went for awhile without my water change and the algae built up only because I knew of a way to blast it right back out and pretend I hadnt cheated in that manner lol

Went to a local club meeting and got a nice Jason Fox Candy Apple Red, VERY impressed with this little Zoa.
