700g in the mix-

jimdogg-thanks for the compliments buddy, that blue face avatar is sweet!!

Hey Mike how have you been and where's the pics of that fowlr tank? Sorry to read about your conspic.:( - My 450 is sitting here empty and I am still contemplating going lps in it. Let me know when you want to meet up and we can swap sps frags!!!
:D :D

The FOWLR is still sitting crated up in my garage. The guy building the stand/canopy got transferred last August to a rural area of Oregon and had issues with financing his new house/shop. Those were finally straightened out last November, but they had to find someone who would build during the Winter. His shop is now 90% completed and he is using it to finish the furniture. He has said it would be done by the end of the month, but I will believe it when I see it. He was almost done with the construction last August with only a couple weeks of work left before the sand/finish stage. I have seen pics nad talked with someone who has seen it in person so I know something exists. I have not paid a cent for it yet, so I am not out anything except a lot of time and frustration. The next few weeks will tell the story though.

hope that guy comes through Mike, I'm sure your reef keeps you occupied.

What is this?

I have stayed away from anthias do to feeding requirements but I see more and more reefers getting them. Can you discuss how you deal with that issue?

I am looking for a school of fish for my tank, but would like 30 - 50 that get between 2" and 3" to add some action. It has been hard to locate such a fish that will live in a school peacfully, be reef safe, etc.

Jnarowe- that there is my chocolate/mimic tang- I had an orange shoulder in my 450 and I think I like this tang a little more-not the disposition, but the colors- my anthias get fed every couple days like all the other fish and they are healthy-I think the feeding requirements for the lyretails are a little overdone from what I have experienced-now if I could only get a male to please stand up-lol

Thank you Tanya-

I have had a chocolate mimic for 4 months now and it isn't that color at all. how old / big is your fish? did he change to that color?

Not sure about how old he is, prolly 5.5",but there is older pics of him in this thread you can look at-I see him all the time so it's hard to tell if he changed much since I got him-

that chocolate is sweet.

carloskoi: Green chromis only scholl until they have killed off most of the herd. They don't seem to be compatible with captive living, or perhaps they do that in the wild too to keep the gene pool strong.

i have read that the Green Chromis will school and exhibit natural behavoir in a large aquarium.

don't believe everything you read. :) Well, that's what I read too, but I have yet to see more than 3 held long term (longer than 1 year) except for in my own tank. I thought I had the magic bullet when mine went for nearly 12 months going from eleven to nine in two months, then to 8 at about the 6 month mark, and now I am down to 4 or 5 at the twelve month mark, with really only two or three active in the water column. I thought I was down to four but counted five a couple nights ago.

I agree-I tried the chromis in my 450g and ended up with the same problem-they pick each other off one at a time-

gwrulzmylife -I'll get some updated fish room pics-thanks

here's an updated pic-lost the ceramics-too many bad threads on possible leaching-don't mind the duplicated fish-it's a merged pic 9' long-thanks-fish room pics coming soon-
