7091 vs "y" adapter

I have a 220 gallon reef with 2 6105's but only 1 7091 controller. Would I be better off running the 2nd 6105 with another 7091 controller or using a "y" adapter? I am planning on using a photo cell too.

This would work, but the 2 pumps will be doing the exact same thing so both will be on high and on low speed at the same time and honestly a 7096 or 7095 will be a better option with many more features.
