Why is the "send to unit" button greyed out?

Now I am just guessing as I have not used one but does your PC see the controller connected? I guessing/assume when you plug it in windows says it is connected or something to that effect and possibly added a icon down in the taskbar on the bottom right with the time

I had the same problem. It's definitely because the program isn't recognizing the controller. Are you running Vista? Look in the very bottom left corner of the controller window, it looks like you'll have to drag the window up a little to even see it. You should either see "status: ok" or "no unit found." If you watch that corner when you first open up the program it scrolls through a couple other things too. But, I couldn't do anything to get it to recognize the multicontroller on my Vista computer. I had to run XP to get it to recognize the controller.

On the Vista computer I already had the .NET framework installed, I don't know if that could cause issues somehow. Other than that, the only difference I noticed is that it kept bringing up the standard install peripheral window on the vista computer, but it never did that on the XP computer. I just ignored it when it popped up on the vista computer.

Try an XP computer for now if you can, other than that, I don't want to make any suggestions. I'd hate to be responsible for damaging it somehow.

Let me ask you this. Is the tunze disk in the computer and it opened? Is your controller connected to the computer? If so, unplug and replug. Is your controller connected to the pump while you try to upload the new program?

If you have any window other than the 7096 open make sure you close it and replug the controller.

You may have to go into your com port settings and manually select it, likely you have some sort of driver conflict.

When I close the program I get an error message:

"Tunze has encountered a problem and needs to close, sorry for the inconveniece."

I suspect that some program you have running is conflicting with the 7096 program. I would try going to your start up items and turning off a lot of your background programs that are loaded up. A lot of virus and spyware programs create conflicts and while I would suggest using them, I might shut them down for the brief time you are setting up the controller.

Another issue that I have heard about is some laptops don't have enough power for multiple USB devices and simply adding a USB splitter that is powered or using a shorter cable may solve the problem. This is becoming more of a problem as more modern USB peripherals demand more power than many older USB sockets can provide.
