7096 R&D and Updates?

Roger, is there a group set aside to continually improve the program for the 7096 unit? I like the flexibility with the unit, however, I'd like to see more options in the programming. Something along the lines of a slow swelling effect from 10 percent slowly moving up to 100 percent over a 1 to 2 minute period etc. IS this something that can be considered, or is this available through another controller option?

Well, not a group but one guy and he does other programming and IT work as well. An update is coming, and we are adding a feature very similar to what you are proposing, however 10% is an impossibility, 30% is the minimum, think of what happens to a slow spinning gyroscope, it becomes unstable and that is why speeds below 30% are not possible. The update hasn't happened yet because of the new features we will be adding but we should have an update pack with 3 new modes by April.

Glad to see you guys are following up on a great product. I just started messing with mine, and already have a wave going with the Tunze wavebox, which leaves limited options on the capabilites of the 6205. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

I apparently didn't complete putting my thoughts together, what I meant to say was there was an update ready to go that added one new mode and based on other feedback here we decided to add 2 more and they will essentially be a gentle like 30-50-60-40 flow program and a strong 30-80-40-100-30-70, etc. It will be an acceleration, deceleration type program that is somewhat random and can be set to gentle or strong.

That is what I am looking for. I previously had Vortechs and woud like to recreate something that the reefcrest mode was able to produce. Will the program be pre-timed for each phase of the pump speed sequence, or can you adjust the duration of each step in the sequence?
Looks like I will be awaiting the upgrade pack.

It will be pretimed, the only selection will be strong and gentle.

Update in April

Would it be possible to add a function in the next update giving the opportunity to set the moonlight 100% every day? The moon phase simulation was a good idea for sure, but I would like to use the moonlight as a fish care light - and this is not working when the light is nearly switched off for a couple of days each month by the simulation.

I don't believe so, this is done by a preprogrammed chip. I will ask.

It would just be where the software downloads are, there won't be any big announcement. It is not ready yet, unfortunately but I know a lot of progress has been made.

I got an update yesterday, the programming is finished for all 3 new modes, the last details are names for the modes which we have not settled on and updating the instructions as well as some final trouble shooting, it should be ready to release very soon.

I will check tomorrow. Everything was done last time I checked accept the implementation of a random accel, decel mode, this was still giving us some trouble.
