I'm looking at the 72" coralife aqualight 3x250mh,4x96pc for my new 180 reef(mostly lps). The cheapest i can find it is $1139.99. Pretty pricey but i love my 30" coralife now. I know I can get a retro for cheaper but what do you guys think about this light? Is it worth the extra $2-300?

Sounds like a very good light, but how deep is your aquaria?
I'm currently wondering if I made the wrong decision in purchasing a coralife aqualight pro with a 150w MH with 2 65w actinics for my 29 gallon aquarium which is 2' deep. What is your opinion?

The retrofit kits are only useful if you have a canopy and that much light is going to generate a TON of heat that will geet trapped in the aquarium. I would rather have the fixture hanging over the top of the tank personally.

Boxer_Crab, I think that you will be fine. What setup do you run, though? Corals? 2 act 03, or 1 03 and 1 10K?

You will get sufficient lighting anywhere in the tank for almost anything except for the very edges.

liveaquaria.com has it for 1199.99, bigalsonline.com has it for like 1283.99 but they will match any price plus take 5% off. Thats $60 off for 1139.99. You just have to give them the website and item # when you call.

No problem, if you do it though wait till a wednesday. The website says you get double bonus points on wednesdays and they told me for the $1139 you get like $55 off your next purchase. So i gotta wait at least a week, gives me time to see if i can find a good retro that i like better and can trust though.
