Everything is running well, no leaks from anything other than the soon to be replaced flex tubing! I've got everything running, will check it all in the morning! Big day today fellas, plumbing went well. Now I just gotta clean this bad boy and fill it with rock and saltwater!

Exciting! :) Do you hear any vibration with your return pump on the bottom glass? What are your plans for the drain line?

Somewhat, but not when I close the doors to the stand. The flex tubing is the only annoyingly loud part of the tank. Well, I've done some measurements and I'm going to either go with a 45 or 90 degree elbow with I think 1" pvc and a ball valve to regulate the flow. Any suggestions?

Just something you may want to consider is dry rock. Prevents all the little nasties you may not want from tagging along

I've been going back and forth on that, but will probably just stick with live rock. The tank is going to be live rock and saltwater for about a month or so before anything goes in there, which will allow me plenty of time to get rid of any nuisances and unwanted pests.

Yeah, a 45, or a combination of two, might be less noisy. I wouldn't use any kind of valve on the drain line - that would only help block it. If you want to regulate your flow down, then regulate it on the way up.

I need to lessen the noise, I can hear it from upstairs! Alright, I'll be stopping by home depot this upcoming weekend. SUPERBOWL TODAY!!!!

Sounds good waddle, I think i'll be adding saltwater and live rock this upcoming weekend. Maybe..

lucky you. If you dont have anything in the tank i found it easier to mix the salt with the water just be careful not to leave any in the corners of the tank cause then when it does mix you will overshoot your mark. Currently i am just staring at my tank... stupid acrylic....

For the time being I'll be using my LFS saltwater since I don't have an rodi system, they'll mix it for me and all that. But eventually I will be mixing my own water, so I'll have to get a mixing container.
