75 gallon reef system has to go

I posted this in the general "for sale" forum, but thought this might be a better place...

My wife and I have moved, and there is no room in the new house, so my reef tank has to go. It is currently still at my old house, which has been purchased by my Mother and Father in law. I can't take going over there to take care of it...They're crazy people...

The system includes 75 gallon main tank, 40 gallon refugium (with a few mangrove trees growing in it), canopy that includes (2) 250 watt halides, and (2) 65 watt CF lights. There are several pumps, and all of the plumbing all has to go. 110# of live rock (covered by corals) 2"+ of live sand in main tank as well as in the fuge.

The reef includes green star polyps (tons of em), zoos, shrooms, branching hammer, branching frog spawn, a medium sized tube anemone, and misc other items. There are 2 blue green chromis, 1 high fin cardinal, one clown fish, one yellow watchman gobie, one other gobie, and lots of crabs and other critters.

The tank is not in pristine condition, due to the moving process, but the corals and livestock are all doing well. I will try to get over there to get some pictures taken, but I do not have any at this moment.

Here's the deal. I am not interested in parting the thing out. It has to go. All of it. I will sell it cheap, but you have to take the whole thing, or none. If you want to buy it, and then part it out, knock yourself out. I figure I have well over $2000 in the system. I'll sell the whole thing for $350 (I just spent $120 on the new XM halides). It is located in Sioux Rapdis, IA...which is 20 miles south of Spencer, IA. I can not deliver it, as I do not have the vehicle to be able to do so.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,
Dan

In box is cleaned out. I have one person whom is interested, but has not committed to buying (wants to see pictures). The first to commit to buying takes it. (Josh, I tried to call, but got a message saying "this subscriber can not receive messages at this time")

Please understand...the tank is not in pristine condition. There is some hair algae growing in it...(not a lot)...but also some nice corals.

One thing that I had forgotten to mention...the 40 gallon refugium...when I originally hooked it up, the back glass cracked. I used silicone and fixed it. It has had water in it for about 1-1/2 years now, and has not leaked at all, but thought you would like to know.

As I'm sure you are very well aware, this tank is VERY heavy. Depending on when you pick it up, I may, or may not be able to help you move it. I would strongly suggest having some mixed up water, ready to go, at it's final destination, as you are probably going to have to drain the majority of the water in order to move it. I would also recommend several rubbermaid containers to put rocks and such in, to reduce the weight of the main tank. In order to keep the corals alive, you will need a RO/DI systems, or a way to get RO water. Tap water will not work for long.

I certainly hope that this isn't unfair, but if you commit to buy it, and it breaks while you are moving it (hopefully not in my in-law's house)...it's still yours.

This picture was taken a little while ago. The copper banded did not make it :( The brain is gone. The large mushroom is not in the same location. But you get the idea.

My wife is very upset with me for selling so cheap, so...in an effort to keep her happy, and since no one has yet commited to buying, I would like to revise the price to $500. The wife said that she could live with that, and that means that I can continue to live too. I certainly hope this is not a problem.

Please feel free to give me a call, if you would like a little more info, or whatever. My home number is (712) 446-2177. My cell number is (712) 346-8797.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a deposit, and a commitment to buy. I will follow up, if it falls thru for some reason.

Thanks a ton for the interest. Hopefully one day I'll be back with a new tank, and more time.
