definitely some of the best landscaping i've seen in a while you did an excellent job on that tank, like the overflow except i would have put egg crate stuff on top, my buddy has an over flow similar to that and he kept loosing fish in it so he used egg crate on top of over flow.

this is in rc slash club st. louis

I was thinking of running the return pump externely.Have any of you ever done this without drilling the sump?I was thinking of just placeing the pump next to the sump on a platform and pluming the pumps input with pvc over to the return chamber of the sump. What do you guys think?

Hey Buzz that looks really good man it looks like your determination paid off. I agree with the aquascape wow.

Use to run a mag 18 external, but the pump had to be at the low point in a loop to keep it from dry starting. It was very loud too! :eek1:
Don't know if that would be a problem with a mag 12 though.

ok I finally came up with a guard for the overflow that I like!

Hey Buzz, I think I remember hearing you say you had 6 T-5s on your system correct? How bright is it with that many and what are you running? Also, did you do a retro fit or a Tek fixture or equivalent?

Yea,Im running a 6 bulb t5 diy retro on 3 workhorse 120v ballasts.Blue plus,10k,super actinic,10k,blue plus,10k.Great color!one reflector for every 2 bulbs. No individual reflectors.I Don't need them!My rocks are stacked pretty high.I've got a few sps's and they have good color and are growing good.I might try 2 individual reflectors on the front if I put a clam in the sand.

Thats cool, Yea I really want a clam. I am at a crossroads right now, my new tank is 31" tall and 24" wide so I will have to get some more bulbs to go with my 4 T-5s. I have a decision to make now though, I can either go with 6 more T-5s or metal halide. Im still leaning toward T-5s because they are cooler adn the tank is in the master bedroom so I dont want much heat. The depth is the only concern about geting enough light to the bottom. But I think T5s will make it, you think? If its darker down there it may just give a realistic ocean look anyway.
