8 bulb t-5 , 18" from sand.............what ya think

4 aquablue, 4 blue +...............think i could put any clam i want on the sand? seems like enuff light to me but ive never owned a clam so i figured id ask those that do have clams and t-5..........

I have 4 overdriven 39watt t5s and my teardrop is more than happy on the sand. Getting 2 more so my arcos will grow faster.

I have a question. T-5 setups don't seem to be cheap why not just go with MH?

T5's have lower heat, T5 is lower watage so less cost to run.
With MH you might end up needing a chiller, and the operating cost is higher due to more watts.

yep, mine are 3" off water, 8 54w bulbs, closed canopy, my temp gets to 86 occasionally in the summer but stays at 84 most of the time with 2 fans on the sump................nice
