8 line flasher wrasse

over the years i have found this to have a much higher success rate then in a QT but everyone has their own ways just trying to help my friend .and yes you definatly have to keep them all fed and happy from the get go .

FWIW, my female 8 line did great in quarantine and is still in there. She's swimming around nicely in there with one small Blue flasher and 2 small damsels. She's getting braver as the days go by and rarely runs to hide when I come to the tank now.

Can't wait to get the male this week and watch the reactions. Hopefully everyone gets along great :)

here's a couple shots of mine ,they did well for three years or so and then just found a way out of my tank .darn wrasses will find the smallest of holes ,one got out and the other went through an overflow that was covered with mesh screen . to this day i have no clue how they got through .Houdini ?

Ahh...the full moon, haha. I love the looks of a flashing 8 line male which is the biggest reason I wanted these guys. Love that red and yellow coloration.

Well...I thought this was pretty interesting....

LiveAquaria called me today and asked me if I was looking for the Paracheliinus or the Pseudocheilinus...in which I explain Paracheliinus of course :) They said that the vendor didn't have any males and that I'd be getting a 'small' wrasse now. Kind of disappointed since they listed a male...I purchased a male...and they wanted to send me a small/female. With no choice, I agreed with an explanation saying that it was kind of a bait and switch....to which they apologized profusely.

A few minutes later, I get a call back saying they had a few of those wrasses in Wisconsin at the Divers Den facility and they would send me one of those instead. She said they were still female but 3 inches long. Still kind of disappointed that I'm getting a female (since I already have one) but I assume that one will change, plus I'm still happy getting it for $89.99, especially one from the Divers Den facility and not QM.

They apparently had a major mixup. The item number they had listed for the $89 one was for the 8line fairy from indonesia, not the 8line flasher from Red Sea. But the description and picture was of the Red Sea fish. They told me to expect a phone call about it around 9am my time.

I got the dreaded phone call also. Had no choice but to take the 3'' female. I'll have to jump on one of the males from pia when they're available. $90 female still a good deal

Thanks Peter, thats what they told me as well.. What are your thoughts on having the two females together? Should I still keep them quarantined together in the 40B ?

I'm glad they took the time to call everyone personally and still offer to sell the females at $89.

I also got a phone call with the same story. I ordered two males for the female I got from NYA. I was hoping one of the males with the presence of a female would turn into a supermale, but oh well. I accepted the offer of two females instead. At $90 bucks a pop I figured it was still a steel, Not as good of a deal as a large male but still a deal.
I think this will actually work out better for my situation because I think my female from NYA is turning into a male already anyhow. She has really started to looke pretty nice, what do you guy think?
