875G / 1335G - Bio-Filter setup

Hey There!

I want to share my setup with you guys because we dont have a very active reef-community here.

All started one or maybe two years ago when i decided to build a large ReefTank.

At the moment i have a heavy modified Juwel 450L aquarium with around 15 fish and several soft-corals but mainly LPS/SPS.

The new setup is made of optiwhite-glass 3200x1000x1000mm around 3200L / 875G (sry for the metrics i live in Switzerland :)

Filter: 3500x1000x700mm floatglass around 1750L / 46G

Total system volume: 1335G / 5000L

The reason i built such a large filter is that im really not happy with my current setup (too small refugium and only moderate throughput of water). So i have to use phosphate-remover and some other components i would like to be left out.

Some specs:
Skimmer: rated for 8000L
http://www.aquariumtechnik.at/SuperDelDoubleEN.html

Light: 2x ATI Sirius x8 over the tank
1x Giesemann Infinity 3x 250w HQI & 4x80w T5

Return:
3x Aquabee 11kL/h (they are planned to run at 90-100% each, around 30'000l/h through the sump)

Flow:
2x Panta Rhei ECM42, (might have to get another 2)

Trace-Elements:
Shuran Jetstream1 Calcium Reactor

Please ask if i forgot something :)

Here some pictures of the progress, in about one week the silicone is ready for water.

best regards
Joel

I thought about Zekia two years ago. I am from Germany. Later I decide for Acryl. Interesting build in the German neighborhood. Will follow.

Wow 3.2 meters long, impressive.

What kind of stand is that? The way the pictures show it looks similar to an 80/20 aluminum we have over here that's just build as you go with slotted aluminum.

some minor progress on reefbuilding

Nice scape.

I think those who are following the "modern aquascape" thread would appreciate these as well.

Thanks! i focused on minimal ground contact to eliminate dead spots and give the fish room to play. its a bit clean and symetric now, will add more stages with reef-flats to finish it

just ordered some more reef-flats like these, and 180kg salt & sand
