Have you got the new sump up and running and the temp. sump disconnected??
Nope but that's what I'm working on today.

Looking great Tim. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

Tim, you've got a nice Class A setup there. You've know when someone has a DIY project going on when you run into them in Lowes. Nice Job.

Thanks Dan & Shannon

Tim, you might want to put some rubber insulation on the pipes where they touch going through the ceiling. Officespace had the same set up and found the pipes to vibrate from the pump.

Thanks Paul, good idea.

Well everything that could have gone wrong did today. I woke up on the short bus and never got off, I think I even licked a window or two. I spent more time cutting apart plumbing and using the heat gun to try and salvage fittings than I actually did gluing them up. I didn't get the sumps switched around but I got 20 gal. of new water in it. I need one more fitting I'll pick up on the way home tomorrow and I'll try and get it switched around.

I had to make a temporary wood piece to extend my filter sock bracket.
DSC04163.jpg

I couldn't get the sock on or off if I plumbed it that way because the ring was tight against the glass when the top of the ring was horizontal. I needed to make it another 1/2 longer. It now leaned downward at an angle which the two 1/4-20 plastic jack screws I put in will let me adjust it back horizontal.
DSC04164.jpg

This leaves me a 1/2 gap between the ring and the glass which I need to get the sock on and off. I don't know if that made any sense, I'm too tired to try and figure out how to say it better.

Kathy started to paint the shelf support white today. It will get a second coat tomorrow.

Is the sock holder the only problem? Thats not to bad if it is.
The sock holder was the easy part. The plumbing is difficult because the sump is at an angle to the tank so everything needs 45s and 90s to get there. That and I'm guessing where the 2nd overflow box is going to end up so I may have to use a piece of 2 inch spa flex to make the trip into the fitting on the sock holder.

Well it appears that my last post to this thread did not make it last week, so here's another try.

The temp sump is disconnected and cleaned out,

and the new sump is up and running. I need to reroute the wiring to clean up that mess still.

Had a couple leeks to fix in a bulkhead in one of the overflow boxes.

Here is the scrap pile of the temp plumbing job.

Man I could have sworn I posted this already.

I found time to make the ATO Bracket and the bracket to hold the Calcium Reactor and ATO tubing. I made it adjustable so I can set it where I want. The counter bore slot on the back holds the nut like a wrench so all in need to do is loosen the button head screw on the front slide it where I need it and tighten it back up. I will silicon the suction cups to the bracket so they will never slip off. Tomorrow I need to pick up some more plastic 1/4-20 screws to level out the brackets. I will need to make an angle piece now to hook up the float 90 degrees from the face of the bracket because there is no room to put the tubing in the fitting the way it is sitting now, oops, that one got by me.

Tim, you are doing some very nice work. You are quite the fabricator aren't you? Are those screws stainless?

Thanks, I have been know to hack some stuff out when I find time. Yes on the stainless screws.

The salt water mixing tank didn't like having more than 10 gallons in it before it started leaking around the bulkhead. I haven't been having the best luck with bulkheads lately so out comes my friend silicon again.

I received the 1/2 compression fitting in the mail yesterday, 2 days after I ordered it, way to go PM now that's fast. Here is my attempt at making a PH probe chamber. I should be able to get the calcium reacctor running tomorrow.

I also got the angle bracket made so I can attach the backup float to the air sensor bracket. Too bad my Liquid Level Controller box was bad. I get to send it back tomorrow for an exchange. That ought to set me back at least a week on getting my ATO finished.

I also picked up some Panduit today and will mount those and finally clean up the wiring mess.

panduit? thats cool so the cords from all the pumps and whatnot trvel in there then drop out through the slots? Thats cool, home depot?

Nope, HomoDepot didn't have anything like that. I got it from Rexel off of Omha by the Kmart on Powers.

I am totally digging this Panduit. Here are some before and after shots of the wiring mess.

And of course it couldn't go 100% perfect. Here's a shot of the boner I pulled today, no not that one.
My 2 inch drain for the 90 was supposed to go through there.
DSC04215.jpg

Now I have to pull the panduit off the wall and mount it to the bottom of the shelf upside down about 5 inches from the wall. It will be more difficult to get all the wires stuffed in that way but well worth it IMO. Maybe I'll just cut the hole a little wider. I wish I would have bought the 3 inch x 3 inch instead of the 2 X 2. I really have the 2 X 2 stuffed pretty tight.

Ok trueblackpercula here is the latest full tank shot. It is still in a state of disarray due to the project.

Chores, housecleaning and grocery shopping ruled the day to day. It left little time to work on the project. We did manage to get the faux wood trim painted black today along with the back glass. Here are some before, after and during shots of that.

As usual I was enjoying a nice cup of Ice Tea while Kathy was doing all the work.:D :bum: :D :bum: :D :bum:

Why is it that I never see you working on this project and Kathy is always hard at work:smokin: I hope you made two sandwiches today cuz Kathy was doing all the work and was surely hungry.
