90 gallon lighting question...

ok i just wanted to see what lighting everyone else is running on their 90 gallon setups. ive been running 2x 250 watt 14k hamiltons with 4x 65 watt actinic PCs. i have had no problems keeping anything but i am having some zoa colonies that are extending their polyps, some up to 2 inches or more. i just bought at 4x 110 watt vho setup in attempt to make my zoas happyy again, and will be running all actinic on those. does anyone have any suggestions, i know that the polyps will stretch as they are starving for light, but what else can i do? thanks

ive done that with some small frags that ive got, however my aquascape is limited to what i can move up. ive been thinking about getting rid of some of my tonga branch and replacing with some fiji or something. anyway ill have to see what i can do with my larger colonies that ive got down low.

i know its enough for anything really. what setup do most 90 gallons run? i guess im more interested than anything else. i also just changed to halide bulbs 2 weeks ago, and the new vho retro kit will be in this wednesday. ill let you all know how things turn out.

How deep are the Zoas? You only need MH if the tank is deeper then 18 inches. Anything else will grow and get enough light with PCs/flourescents. I too have some that are extending but mine are extending to get out of the way of each other. Are your's extending straight up or out?

they are mostly extending up, and the zoas that are extending are in the sandbed. my halides are mounted 12" over the water

Thats a alot of space between your zoos and the light. I would move them up closer to the light.

i guess ill see what i can do about my rock work, as the tonga branch kinda limits me... maybe ill do a trade at the LFS
