What do you think?

Only one image showing up for me but the FTS look good. Whats your fitleration for both tanks?

I am running an ASM G2 with a 8 watt gamma UV i also have a phosban reactor... Not too heavy on the filtering... I also have just a regular sponge filter...

hmm... not sure why they arent working...

Yea, they work now. Think it might of just been my computer. Are both tanks linked to the same sump?

I like how you did that. Looks great and that pipefish is cool. How do you like that guy?

Thanks! I love the pipes! The fuge is what i like to call a display fuge! I have some cool stuff in there too! There are 3 pipes in there... 2 multiband and one banded... Here are some pics of them

Great work!
I'm working on something similar, 58 Reef and 30 pipefish (maybe seahorses)
Keep up the good work.

Matt,

Interesting I stumbled across this thread... I was talking to Julian Sprung (he spoke at our quarterly club meeting) about the multi colored banded so I have some questions for you...

1) How long have you had them
2) Where did you get them
3) are you feeding them seperately, or are you just letting them forage for yourself?

Thanks

Dave

Thanks max crab! I would not advise going with seahorses and pipes. All pipes are wild caught and the ponies you would want are captive bred. The pipes will carry diseases the ponies havent been exposed to so the pipes can kill the ponies with the diseases they carry, but they wont effect the pipes because they have an immunity built up.

Dave, i have had them for a little over 3 weeks now. I got them from live aquaria. They currently eat cyclops-eeze, mysis, and brine shrimp plus what ever else they can find in the tank! They started eating about 2 days after i first put prepared food in there. I had a multiband for about 2 years once, but ended up having to give him away!

I should have typed pipefish or seahorses. I have read that seahorses+pipes may cause problems, I just haven't decided which I am going to put in the 30.

Matt,

Interesting... I have been interested in them for a while...(haven't taken a stab at it yet... still looking for information)

I mentioned to Julian, and he's been trying to keep them for a while, but they seem to have 2 different mortality periods (after shipping within the first week, and then 3 months later)...

thats a really cool idea!! i like the pipe fish in the refuge!! i might have to steal ur idea and put some in when i finally get my refugium all set up!!

Thanks all! Dave- Mine have made it past the 1 week marker i guess! I would say just go for it! Just make sure you have nothing that will sting them or steal their food!

If any of you guys wanna see pics of something in the tank just let me know! I have over 3000 pics of the tank!

Matt

That's such a cool idea. My wife has been asking me to put something in our basement fuge so she has something to watch while doing the laundry.

I love it. What kind of light do you have over the pipe tank?

Do you have to feed them or do they subsist on pods?
