9010 air adjustment

hello,
I just installed a 9010 in my sump. I can not seem to adjust the air. No matter if I close the screw or open it - it is always about the same.

any help?

I'm sure it is a useful adjustment for someone, but I've never used a skimmer that benefitted on my tanks from reduced air input. I currently have two tunze's a ER, and a lifereef, and run them all wide open on the air. Perhaps those with a high bioload need to reduce air to prevent skimmer overflow,

roger,
no it does not. If I take the screw out and block the screw holes on the inside and outside, the bubbles will stop.

I can't seem to get enough bubbles. My tank is old and dirty. I wanted to skim wet but can not do it.

That's odd Sal, on my Tunzes if you turn the screw in the bubbles reduce. Without taking mine apart, I don't know what could cause this (perhaps the airline became disconnected in shipping?). I'll bet Roger can let you know where to look to solve the problem though. I wouldn't think you would have any problem wet skimming with a 9010 if it is all working correctly,

Hmm, check out the airline that runs inside and try running the pipe cleaner that came with the skimmer as part of the brush set through the hole the screw goes through. I can think of 4 possible problems.

A) Debris from the manufacturing process or packaging inside the venturi.

B) Broken hose connection or venturi

C) The screw is defective and too small in diameter

D) The hole is threaded too large

Roger,
The hose was kinked inside the skimmer. I am getting plenty of foam now. The screw is loose - it will not shut off the air. I don't think that matters.
Why would I need to shut the air off?

You wouldn't, it is just something to check. It sounds like you got it working well.
