9010 skimmer close to light

hey roger,

I am planning to use the 9010 as an internal skimmer. I have my t-5s right above the collection cup. will heat be an issue on the collection cup. I dont want it to melt or anything. It's about 1 or 2 inches above it.

I don't think it will be an issue though algae may grow in the cup and some discoloration may occur in time.

I am having bubbles coming from the bottom of the skimmer. Is this normal?

Yes, closing the shutter door somewhat will help and so will a couple weeks of running, this problem is much worse when the skimmer is new as the pump is at peak efficiency and the plastic is "slippery" and repels water.
